RPP – Respiratory Pathogen Panel

What Is RPP?

The respiratory pathogen panel is a test to detect and identify a specific viral nucleic acid from an individual that is presenting symptoms of a respiratory infection.

How Is This Test Performed?

The specimen for this test is collected by swabbing the inside of the nasal passageway. The personnel performing the test will rotate the swab 2-3 times in both of the patient’s nasal cavities.
